The Faith

"I do not worship matter, but the Creator of matter, who for my

sake became material and deigned to dwell in matter, who

through matter effected my salvation..."

 ~ Saint John of Damascus

The Church of Arima upholds the faith once delivered unto the saints, expressed in different rites and Creeds given to us throughout the history of the Church. Here are the Creeds of the Church of Arima.

The Nicene Creed

I believe in one God, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all ages; Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten, not created, of one essence with the Father through Whom all things were made. Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became man. He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried; And He rose on the third day, according to the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father; And He will come again with glory to judge the living and dead. His kingdom shall have no end.

And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Creator of life, Who proceeds from the Father, Who together with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, Who spoke through the prophets.

In one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church.

I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.

I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the age to come.

Amen.

Saint Athanasius the Great.jpg

I believe in God,
the Father almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried;
he descended into hell;
on the third day he rose again from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty;
from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.

Amen.

The Caribbean Creed

We Believe in one God, JEHOVAH (YHWH) the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible, who is infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes and purposes, as well as omniscient and omnipresent.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the second person of the Blessed Trinity; the Son of God, the Only-begotten, Begotten of the Father before all ages, Light of Light, Very God of Very God, Begotten, not made; of one essence with the Father, by whom all things were made:

Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and was made man;

And was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried;

And the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures;

And ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father; that His is the only saving name, and whatsoever we do in word or in deed must all be in the name of Jesus to the honor of God the Father,

And He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead, Whose kingdom shall have no end.

We Believe in the Holy Ghost, the third person of the Blessed Trinity; the Lord, Comforter and Giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father through the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified; who speaks by the Apostles and Prophets; in the speaking in, and interpretation of other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, signs, wonders and all gifts spoken of and demonstrated by Jesus Christ and His disciples.

We Believe in holy sanctified living, divine healing, blessings, prosperity, and communion in one holy Catholic and Apostolic Church of God which is Theocratic, not democratic, under the sovereign authority of God the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and is separate from all governmental entities past, present, and future. We acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins into the name of God the Father, and of the Lord Jesus Christ, and of the Holy Spirit; we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.

We Believe that the Bible is the inspired, unbreakable, infallible Word of God, written by holy men as they were moved by the Holy Spirit;

We Believe that God is continually restoring truth and light to His Church; that we place no limit on revelation and that all must be substantiated according to the Scriptures and Sacred Tradition, Amen.
