ARCHBISHOP WILLIAM FRANCIS PATRICK MALLOY JR., MDiv, MA, DD

Primate of the American Independent Old Catholic Church & Metropolitan Archbishop within the Holy Catholic Church International

On September 30, 1984, at the Apostolic Old Catholic Chapel of Saint Michael and All Angels, in Los Angeles, California. His Holiness Mar Markus 1st (Leo Christopher Skelton Miller), Patriarch of the Byzantine Catholic Church, served as Chief Consecrator to the Most Reverend William Francis Patrick Malloy, Jr. His Holiness Mar Markus 1st was assisted by three other Catholic Bishops:

 

~The Most Reverend Hans Bjoren Kroneberg of the Apostolic Old Catholic Church

 ~The Most Reverend Nicolas Stefan Wilkie, Mar Nicholas, of

the Orthodox Church of Christ in America.

~The Most Reverend Mar Apriam 1st (Richard Morril), Patriarch of the Apostolic Orthodox Catholic Church

 

These five bishops acted on a Mandamus issued by the House of Bishop for the American Independent Church of Tokeo, Japan, electing Bishop Malloy to be the Presiding Bishop for the Church in America.  They are:

 

The Most Reverend James Warren Moore, M.D., Ph.D, Presiding Archbishop for the Church

The Most Reverend Seol Kyo Youl Lee, Bishop of Japan

The Most Reverend Euchi Hachim, Bishop of Asia

The Most Reverend Jang Sug Ho, Bishop of Korea

The Most Reverend Ching-Yih Wu, Bishop of Twaian

who represented the House of Bishops and

Present at the interview were The Most Reverend Paul Lee, Assistant to the Archbishop and The Most Reverend Henry Yu.

 

Representing the Laity were Mr. Denni Polaski Moore and Mr. Harley R. Hughes.

 

Bishop William Francis Malloy was permitted to choose the Consecrating bishop, due mostly to the fact that the above bishops spoke no English and the list of consecrators was presented to Archbishop Moore and the House of Bishops, who approved the consecrating bishop On May 22, 1983 in a meeting held at Madam Woo’s Restaurant in Santa Monica, California

 

The American Independent Churches, was founded in 1979 and incorporated in the United States to serve the oriental Communities of the greater Los Angeles Area. The corporate documents were given to Bishop Malloy to serve under Archbishop Moore, until the Church was firmly established in the United States, with rights and titles as Archbishop when the present Archbishop died. After the death of Archbishop Moore, Bishop Malloy took the reigns as Archbishop of the American Independent Old Catholic Church. He currently serves as Cardinal and advisory to his Patriarch, the Most Reverend Heward "Paul" Bruce Ewart III, Metropolitan Archbishop and Patriarch of the Holy Catholic Church International.  

By the decree of the Patriarch Paul, Archbishop Malloy laid hands upon and consecrated Archbishop Charles Ray Hill as Metropolitan Archbishop within the Holy Catholic Church International, bringing him into the Apostolic Succession
